  • JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu
  • Are there any affordable hotels in Takamatsu convenient for an udon pilgrimage?

I'm heading to Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, to try the famous Sanuki udon. I'll be driving, so I'm looking for a cheap hotel around Takamatsu city that offers "room only" plans and has parking available.

JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu

1-1 Hamano Cho

  • Close to Takamatsu Castle and Perfect for Your Udon Journey!

  • I highly recommend JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu. Not only is it ideally located right in front of Takamatsu Station, but there are also many udon restaurants nearby, so you'll have plenty of dining options. The hotel even has underground parking, making it a great base for exploring. You can reach areas like Kotohira-gu Shrine (Konpira-san) by car in about an hour. Takamatsu Castle is right nearby, and Ritsurin Garden is also easily accessible. Whether you're traveling solo or with family, this hotel caters to all, offering everything from single rooms to Japanese-style rooms that can accommodate up to five people.

Dormy Inn Takamatsu

1-10-10 Kawaramachi

  • A Foodie's Paradise! Highly Recommended for the Kawaramachi Area!

  • Dormy Inn Takamatsu is located in Kawaramachi, which I highly recommend because the area around Kawaramachi Station is packed with izakayas, restaurants, and udon shops. It's a true foodie's paradise! Whenever I visit Takamatsu, I often go to Kawaramachi for dinner myself. While the parking is paid, and you might need to use a nearby lot if the hotel's parking is full, the value you get here goes beyond a typical business hotel. They offer welcome sweets, a large public bath (onsen-style) where you can relax, free ice cream after your bath, and even complimentary "Yonaki Soba" (late-night ramen) if you get hungry! These services are all free, making it truly worth your stay.

Takamatsu Kokusai Hotel

2191-1 Kita-cho

  • Rooms Starting from Around ¥6,000 Per Person!

  • Although this hotel is a little outside the bustling areas like Takamatsu Station and Kawaramachi, it's a fantastic option if you have a car. You can find single rooms for around ¥6,000, and they even have Japanese-style tatami rooms that can accommodate up to four people, sometimes for as low as ¥5,000 per person! That's a great deal! What's even better is their excellent support for international guests, with staff fluent in English, Korean, and Chinese. They also offer vegan-friendly options, which is a huge plus for many travelers. This hotel is perfect if your travel style involves heading out by car for dinner and then simply returning to sleep.

Toyoko Inn Takamatsu Hyogomachi

3-1, Hyogo-machi

  • Save on Your Stay, Splurge on Udon! Toyoko Inn is Your Go-To for Value!

  • Located just an 8-minute walk from Takamatsu Station in an area with many business hotels, you'll find plenty of restaurants and udon shops nearby. While parking costs ¥800 per night, the room rates are incredibly affordable: around ¥7,000 for single occupancy and about ¥5,000 per person for double occupancy! Plus, breakfast is included, offering fantastic value for money! As part of the Toyoko Inn chain, you can expect consistent quality. If you want to save on accommodation and spend more on your udon pilgrimage or other sightseeing, this is definitely the place to stay!

Business Hotel Toho Inn Takamatsu

1-5-18 Jotoucho, Takamatsu-shi

  • Perfect for Udon Hopping! Cost-Effective with Parking & Quiet Nights!

  • If you're traveling by car, Business Hotel Toho Inn Takamatsu is a highly recommended and cost-effective option. It boasts on-site parking for guests and offers very reasonable "room only" rates, helping you save on your overall accommodation expenses. Being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the city center means you can expect a relatively peaceful night's sleep. A charming perk is that you can even enjoy an "asa-udon" (morning udon) at a nearby udon shop that opens early, perfect for a morning stroll!

Takamatsu City Hotel

Kamei-cho 8-13

  • Right in the Heart of Udon Alley: A Budget-Friendly Gem with Parking!

  • Takamatsu City Hotel, located in the heart of Takamatsu's downtown area, offers not only affordable "room only" plans but also puts you right amidst popular udon shops like "Udon-Bo" and "Mendokoro Wataya Takamatsu Branch." It's in a lively downtown spot yet still offers parking facilities. To ensure peace of mind, it's a good idea to reserve your parking spot in advance!

Hotel Takamatsu Hills

1-8-3 Kawaramachi

  • Explore Retro Shopping Streets & Late-Night Udon!

  • Hotel Takamatsu Hills is conveniently close to Lion-dori Shopping Street, one of Takamatsu's liveliest downtown areas. This means it's not just great for your udon pilgrimage, but also perfect for exploring local eateries and enjoying a night out! Stroll through the charming, retro-covered shopping arcade and savor a "shime-udon" (udon as a late-night meal) at one of the udon shops open late. While the rooms are compact, they are well-equipped and comfortable. You can use their affiliated parking lot, and the parking fees are comparable to hotels with their own dedicated parking.
