If you are going to Universal Studios, you will probably also be sightseeing in Osaka. I think Comfort Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi is a good value hotel to stay at, as prices won't rise too much during Golden Week. It is a normal business hotel and I feel that the price is cheaper than hotels of the same quality in the city. It is located in an area with Tokyu Hands and an office district, so it is not inconvenient for restaurants or convenience stores. It is about 10 minutes from Umeda (Osaka Station) on the Midosuji subway line, and I think that access to USJ is not bad.
