Accommodation along Matsushima

This is a resort hotel with hot springs in Matsushima, Miyagi. It's not Ryokan (Japanese inn), but the food is substantial, there is an open-air bath, and I think you can relax there. It's located on the seafront where you can see the scenery of Matsushima, so it's very pleasant.

Relaxed accommodation

If you're in Matsushima, I recommend starting off with a sightseeing boat ride to see the islands. For lodging, I recommend Hotel Sokan, located near JR Matsushima Station. It's set on spacious grounds, so you can stay while looking out over Matsushima. Meals are mostly Buffet style, and are hearty and delicious. The hot springs are spacious and clean, so you can relax there.
