I'd like to go see the Okama Crater of Zao during summer vacation, and then stay at Zao Onsen in Yamagata. What are some recommended hotels with outdoor baths?
I saw the Okama Crater in Zao National Park on the internet and it left a strong impression on me, so I'm going to go there during summer vacation to take photos. After that, I'd like to stay at Zao Onsen in Yamagata, so are there any inns with outdoor baths with Breathtaking view? I'd like an inn with delicious food.

- This inn is located in a quiet forest and lakeside at the foot of the Zao mountain range. From here, you can walk 108 steps to the inn and enjoy the natural hot spring "independent guest cottages no Yu Hyakuhachiho". You can enjoy the hot spring in the bathhouse, the open-air bath with Breathtaking view of the Zao mountain range and Tatsuyama, and the all-wooden indoor bath. As for meals, you can eat kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )using high-quality ingredients such as the finest Yamagata beef.うまき's answer (Posted on:2021/12/20)

This hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) is renowned for its food.
- There is an open-air bath with Breathtaking view view that makes use of the natural scenery. A gazebo made of several huge logs is suspended over part of the bath. If you listen carefully, you can hear the birds chirping. The meal is kaiseki cuisine that lets you experience the taste of the four seasons, and the main dish is juicy Yamagata wagyu beef teppanyaki.とりむ's answer (Posted on:2023/6/ 6)

There is an open-air bath with natural hot spring water from which you can see the Zao mountains.
- Iwashimizu Cuisine Inn Kinosato has an open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water, overlooking the Zao mountains. There is also a foot bath, where you can sit and relax while taking in the open view. After the bath, you can receive an aroma treatment. There is also a colorful yukata rental service, which is great for women. Dinner is a Satoyama kaiseki meal made with local seasonal ingredients, and you can eat Zao beef and Yonezawa beef. A little independent guest cottages from the hot spring town, this quiet inn is surrounded by nature, and the guest rooms are Japanese-style rooms with a relaxing feel.RRgypsies's answer (Posted on:2020/9/20)

Be careful not to get water in your eyes when bathing.
- I recommend Zao Plaza Hotel. It is located halfway up the mountain and the view from the restaurant is amazing. The mountains are looming to the left and the lower world spreads out to the right. The food is prepared using local ingredients and is very satisfying. There is an open-air bath made of cypress. However, if the water gets into your eyes, it will hurt for a while, so be careful.アラート's answer (Posted on:2020/9/17)

Enjoy the cloudy water while taking in the great outdoors

If you're visiting Zao Onsen, we recommend Hotel Jurin, a famous hot spring resort surrounded by nature. It is part of the Takamiya Hotel Group, a long-established hot spring resort that has been in business for over 300 years, and has a very high level of satisfaction. This hotel is located on the slopes, so you can enjoy Breathtaking view surrounded by nature and a view that will make you forget about the city. The hot spring water is cloudy, and the old-fashioned wooden bathtub gives it a sense of elegance. The meals are a Japanese-Western fusion meal of Yamagata brand meat, and the Yamagata beef steak is especially delicious!きりん's answer (Posted on:2019/6/ 9)
