[Couples' Trip] What are the recommended onsen(hot spring) Ryokan (Japanese inn) in onsen(hot spring)?
My girlfriend and I are planning our New Year's visit to a shrine (Hatsumode) at Izumo Taisha. We'd like to stay one night at Tamatsukuri Onsen afterward. Since it's a special trip, I'd really appreciate recommendations for an onsen ryokan with a focus on the quality of the hot spring water (onsen).

- This ryokan boasts six private, in-house hot spring sources, giving it one of the most abundant hot spring flows in Japan! A special feature is its huge mixed-gender outdoor bath (Rotenburo), which is so big it feels like a pond, offering a truly liberating experience. The open-air baths attached to the guest rooms also use pure, free-flowing spring water (Gensen Kakenagashi), allowing you to fully enjoy the famous "beauty hot spring" in a private setting. They even have a spot where you can enjoy a foot bath (Ashiyu) while gazing at the beautiful garden—you should definitely give it a try!マヨネーズ's answer (Posted on:2025/9/12)

A trip to Izumo Taisha Shrine and onsen(hot spring) sounds great! If you're looking for a onsen(hot spring) Ryokan (Japanese inn), we recommend Kasuien Minami. This inn has its own hot spring source, and the large public bath is 100% natural hot spring. The quality of onsen(hot spring) 's spring water is highly effective in moisturizing the skin, leaving it smooth and silky. There are also private baths available, so you can enjoy a special time just for the two of you. The food is kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with local ingredients, so you can enjoy the delicious flavors of Shimane.たまごサンド's answer (Posted on:2025/9/12)

A Ryokan With Private Open-Air Baths (Kashikiri Rotenburo)
- The natural hot spring here is a sulfate spring, which is said to have anti-aging properties. I remember my skin feeling very smooth and moisturized after bathing! The large public baths each include a rotenburo (outdoor bath), a jacuzzi, and a sauna, all offering a relaxing view of the traditional Japanese garden. Furthermore, they have four different private open-air baths (Kashikiri Rotenburo) that you can reserve, each with a different ambiance. The waiting area is spacious with plenty of chairs, so you can wait comfortably. The food was also delicious and very generous in portion size. The area just outside the ryokan feels like a traditional onsen town, which made for a fun sightseeing stroll!churos1's answer (Posted on:2015/10/18)
