This is a private inn with an ocean view from every room, overlooking the Tsugaru Strait. We were able to relax in the Japanese-style room with a wide veranda on the Tsugaru Strait side. We were also able to enjoy the natural hot springs with the Tsugaru Strait right in front of us in the open-air bath and large bath while overlooking the Hokkaido mountains. For dinner, kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）using local seasonal ingredients, including seafood from the Tsugaru Strait. The specially ordered dishes, such as grilled amberjack collar, abalone sashimi, squid sashimi, and scallop sashimi, were especially delicious.

We recommend Hotel Grand Mer Sankaisou, located in an excellent location surrounded by the Sea of Japan and Mt. Iwaki in Nishitsugaru County. You can view the majestic Sea of Japan from the open-air bath and relax while enjoying the 300,000-year-old fossil seawater hot spring. The food is seasonal seafood dishes. The interior is a beautiful Japanese-Western style Ryokan (Japanese inn) filled with the charm of Taisho era romance.

This inn has a "fossil seawater hot spring" where ancient seawater has turned into hot spring water, which will warm you to the core. In addition to the open-air bath, there are also rooms with open-air baths, so if you have the budget, it would be a good idea to stay here as married couple. The food is delicious, with seafood from Ajigasawa, and you can especially eat pickled flounder rice bowls and the high-class fish huchen, so even gourmets will be satisfied.
