Asarigawa Onsen, the inner sanctum of Otaru, is a hidden gem that we highly recommend.

Although it is a little independent guest cottages from Otaru, I recommend Asarigawa Onsen. The Asari Classe Hotel has Japanese and Western room for couples, which I think is nice. The open-air bath surrounded by the green nature was also wonderful. It warmed up my body, which had become cold after walking around Otaru. The French cuisine, which was made with local Hokkaido ingredients, was stylish and delicious. Asarigawa Onsen is not very famous, and not many Japanese people know about it. It is a hot spring recommended for those who want to have a special experience in Japan.

Enjoy the feeling of forest bathing in the open-air bath

This hotel is located in Asarigawa Onsen, and there are many tourist attractions in the surrounding area. We recommend the night view from Otaru Tenguyama, one of the three major night views in Hokkaido. It's also fun to take the ropeway to the top of the mountain. After watching the night view, relax in the open-air bath at the hotel. If you want to relax even more, there is also a sauna and healing salon.

There is a shuttle bus from Otaru

There is a shuttle bus from Otaru, so you can travel safely in winter. There is a ski resort nearby, so you can also do sightseeing in Otaru.
