  • Kinugawa Onsen | instagrammable! 11 hot spring inns with a rustic atmosphere in the mountains [with reviews]

I'm planning to spend a night with my older girlfriend at Kinugawa Onsen in Nikko near Tokyo. She said she likes hot spring inns with a rustic atmosphere, so please let me know about a relaxing hot spring inn that's like a hideaway in the mountains.

Kinugawa Onsen Taki 542-3

  • This is a Kinugawa inn where you can also experience beauty treatments.

  • This hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) is located in Kinugawa Onsen, Tochigi. You can see the river from your room, and the lake view is highly recommended. For meals, you can enjoy gourmet food unique to Tochigi, such as Tochigi Wagyu beef, which is highly recommended. In addition to indoor and outdoor baths, there is also a hot spring pool, so children can enjoy themselves. There is also a beauty salon, so it is recommended for those accompanying you.

Hatcho no Yu Hot Spring Ryokan

876 Kawamata, Nikko

  • hot spring inn at an altitude of 1,300 meters

  • This is located in the mountains at an altitude of 1,300 meters in Kinugawa Onsen. It is a log cabin hot spring inn that takes advantage of its location surrounded by mountains and valleys. The rooms are equipped with tatami mats, and you can enjoy the warmth and atmosphere of the design. It was clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed the rare dish of boar hotpot, which matched the atmosphere of the inn.

  • An inn located along the Kinugawa River

  • This inn is located along the Kinugawa River, so you can get a full view of the river from your room. You can also listen to the sound of the clear stream from the open-air bath while looking down at Mount Keicho. You can enjoy the scenery of each season, from the fresh greenery in spring to the autumn leaves in autumn.

Toryukan

41-2 Takahara, Kawaji Onsen, Nikko-shi

  • This is the place to go for a traditional hot spring inn with a rustic atmosphere!

  • There is an inn called "Toryukan" in Kawaji Onsen, which is further back from Kinugawa Onsen, and I recommend it because it gives a rustic atmosphere! It's a good sense of relaxation that high-end Ryokan (Japanese inn) doesn't have. The room is nice and relaxed, and it feels nostalgic and warm, and there is a sense of value such as room meals even though it is a low price. The hot springs are also flowing from the source, and you will warm up to the core of your body!
