• This ryokan is a paradise for onsen lovers, boasting one of the largest public bath complexes in Tamatsukuri Onsen. I could completely stretch out and unwind in the two distinct sets of baths: a spacious, rock-hewn indoor and outdoor bath, and a fragrant hinoki cypress indoor and outdoor bath. It was also a treat to have a choice between high and low-temperature dry saunas. The pampering continued at dinner with a feast of local delicacies like Nodoguro fish, Tottori Wagyu beef, and the famously plump shijimi clams from Lake Shinji. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, featuring many local specialties.

• If you are visiting Tamatsukuri Onsen in Shimane, might I suggest Hoseikan? As one of the most distinguished and long-established ryokans in the onsen town, it boasts a legacy of over 300 years. This heritage is reflected in its excellent hot springs and legendary hospitality (omotenashi). The dining experience is equally superb, featuring a dinner of seasonal delicacies like Shimane Wagyu beef and snow crab. In the morning, you can enjoy a generous Japanese and Western-style buffet with over 20 dishes that incorporate local ingredients.​​

• "Tabitei Yamanoi" serves Buffet for breakfast. Buffet menu includes dishes using local ingredients. There is a wide variety of drinks and local sake, so you can try a variety and it's a good deal. The Japanese banquet dinner was also quite luxurious. The bath had a nice atmosphere, with an open-air bath with a small waterfall and a view of the bamboo forest.

• "Kasuien Minami" is Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Tamatsukuri Onsen where you can soak in the abundant amount of hot spring water, which is also known as a natural lotion and is rich in beneficial properties. They also have spacious rooms where you can relax. In addition, the meals were delicious, using plenty of local ingredients from Shimane Prefecture, including fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. Breakfast was served in Buffet style, with a wide variety of menu items and freshly prepared food.

• independent guest cottages a little ways from the center of Tamatsukuri Onsen, this hotel has a beautiful view of Lake Shinji. The view of Lake Shinji from the indoor and outdoor baths is the ultimate luxury. For dinner, you can enjoy fresh local seafood and Shimane beef, and for breakfast, you can enjoy a wide variety of Japanese and Western Buffet. There is also a beauty salon. Although the hotel has a retro Showa-era atmosphere, it is recommended for its cleanliness and beautiful views.
