  • A Nozawa Onsen inn with a private family bath

  • The guest rooms are 10 tatami Japanese-style rooms, so they are spacious and perfect for families to relax in. The hot spring has a private family bath that can be reserved in advance, so you can relax with just the family. For dinner, you can enjoy kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with plenty of Shinshu ingredients, such as Shinshu beef Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot). For breakfast, you can enjoy hot spring rice porridge made with the hotel's own hot spring water, barley rice, grilled yamame trout, and hot spring eggs. Of course, there is a free parking lot, so you don't have to worry. The very popular Osaru no Onsen is about 30 minutes away by car.

  • Three hot springs with different temperatures

  • This large bath is built in the traditional style of bathhouse by a Miyadaiku carpenter, and is dimly lit, so you can relax and unwind. Although it is dimly lit, it does not feel scary, but rather has the solemn and gentle atmosphere of a shrine or temple. There are three types of bathtubs: hot, warm, and hip bath, so you can enjoy each one and be very satisfied.

  • There is a large open-air bath without a roof.

  • This is a rather large hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Nozawa Onsen town. It has an indoor bath built in traditional bathhouse style by a palace carpenter. The open-air bath adjacent to the large bath is spacious, and at night you can see the stars. You can enjoy original Shinshu Japanese cuisine, mainly using local mountain produce and mushrooms.

  • This is highly recommended as the best inn for palace carpenters in Nozawa Onsen.

  • A long-established inn with a retro feel that will make you feel nostalgic!

  • There is an inn here in Nozawa Onsen that is rumored to have been the model for a certain anime, found in Ikaho, Shima, or Ginzan Onsen in Gunma. The retro feel that you don't get from the exterior, but as soon as you see the large bathhouse, which is said to have been built by a palace carpenter, you are drawn back to the world of Taisho Romance, as if you had traveled back in time. While taking a bath in a bathtub filled with 100% natural hot spring water without adding water to the spring that naturally flows from the garden, you will feel so relaxed that you will fall asleep while looking at the magnificent Japanese architecture that stretches up to the ceiling. You will enter the adjacent open-air bath, enter the sauna that is also nearby, and come back to your senses when you enter the open-air cold water bath right in front of you. This is the kind of inn you can spend a moment like that. The local ingredients and cuisine you eat for dinner will blow away your everyday fatigue in both body and mind. Needless to say, a delicious breakfast will greet you the next morning.

  • This retro wooden bathhouse, built by a master carpenter, has private baths and a Mixed-Gender Hot Springs spa.

  • The sauna and open-air baths are great, but the indoor baths in the large communal baths are the best in Japan!

  • The wooden bathhouse architecture, built by palace carpenters, is so fascinating that you will be overwhelmed by its charm as you gaze upon it while soaking in the bath. The sauna and cold bath are located next to the open-air bath, so it is best to go outside and let the water cool before entering the sauna. There is also a Mixed-Gender Hot Springs-gender open-air bath where swimsuits are required, so married couple and families can enjoy the bath in harmony. Meals are served in private rooms for breakfast and dinner, and consist of local Japanese kaiseki cuisine. The water is free-flowing 24 hours a day, so you can bathe at any time.

  • You can alternate between the open-air bath and sauna.

  • It's rare to find a hotel with a sauna in Nozawa Onsen, but Ryokan (Japanese inn) Sakaya has a sauna and a cold bath next to the open-air bath. You can leave the sauna, enter the cold bath, return to the open-air bath, sauna and cold bath in a smooth flow that will completely tone up your flabby body. Just relaxing in the large public bath and gazing at the construction techniques of the palace carpenters in the bathtub will take you into a nostalgic world. The meal was a Japanese banquet with a focus on local dishes according to the season, and we enjoyed Shinshu soba, Nozawana and local sake.
