Ibusuki Iwasaki Hotel is a great place to enjoy the hot springs and the ocean view. There is also a sand bath inside the hotel, and after the sand bath, it feels great to take a bath in the open-air bath overlooking the ocean. It's especially good to take a bath while watching the sunrise. The food is also pretty good, so it's a hotel the whole family can enjoy.

I'm a local. This inn has a sand bath, free shochu tasting, and a Genroku bath, which are fun for both adults and children. If you have the time and transportation, I recommend the sand Sunamushi Onsen (Steam Sand Bath) at Yamakawa Fushimi Beach, which is a truly natural hot spring that has been around for a long time. If you go a little further, you can also visit Japan's only tourist seahorse farm, the Seahorse House, and Kamafuta Shrine, which are also interesting.

Ibusuki Royal Hotel does not have a sand bath on site, but they provide a free shuttle bus to a place where sand baths are available, so it wasn't a problem. The large public bath and open-air bath in the hotel had good quality water and a nice view. We also enjoyed the delicious shochu and Satsuma Kuroge Wagyu steak, as well as other dishes made with local ingredients.

Afterwards, you can feel even more refreshed in the open-air bath, which is also full of a sense of freedom, and you can immerse yourself in the best mood. The meal is a half-Buffet, with a mini kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）and a wide variety of Buffet, so the whole family can enjoy it. Because it is a vacation village, the accommodation fee is cheap, and there are also interactive programs that children will enjoy.

To get to Ibusuki Onsen, there is a direct bus from Kagoshima Airport. It takes a little time, but you can get there without getting lost. The famous natural sand bath is located on the beach on the coast. It is a unique bathing experience where you cover yourself with sand, but even if your body gets dirty, you can wash it off comfortably and there are facilities nearby, so you don't have to worry. Now, Ibusuki Shusuien is a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) that is said to have been ranked number one in the food category of the 100 Best Japanese Ryokan (Japanese inn) selected by professionals for over 30 years in a row. I stayed at this inn for two nights, and the food was amazing. The prices are a little high, but it is sure to be a memory that will last a lifetime.
