Regarding the basashi (horse sashimi) you requested, you have options: you can either select a plan that already includes it, or you can order it as an additional dish. The cuisine here is strongly committed to local flavors, featuring specialties like Akaushi (red) beef. Furthermore, all the hot springs are gensen kakenagashi. This means they are 100% free-flowing, with water piped directly from the source—never recycled. A significant highlight is the 11 kashikiri (private-use) baths, which are free for guests. This is ideal for families. Many of these baths are full of character, allowing you to fully savor the authentic Kurokawa Onsen experience.

Naturally, the food is superb as well. They offer dinner plans that feature "Akaushi" beef, along with the "basashi" (horse sashimi) you were hoping for. There are more baths than rooms, so you can enjoy touring the hot springs within the building with almost no waiting time. With an abundant supply of hot spring water, you can enjoy Kurokawa's famous hot springs directly from the source in all the baths. For meals, we chose a plan that focused on Kumamoto's specialty horse sashimi and juicy grilled Higo beef sirloin, which was very delicious.

The location was good and there were souvenir shops nearby, so it was easy to choose souvenirs. In addition to the large public bath, there were several private hot springs, so I couldn't use them all. The food was delicious, the staff were well trained, and I had a comfortable stay. I'd like to stay again!
