  • [Couples' Trip] What are the recommended onsen(hot spring) Ryokan (Japanese inn) in onsen(hot spring)?

My girlfriend and I are planning our New Year's visit to a shrine (Hatsumode) at Izumo Taisha. We'd like to stay one night at Tamatsukuri Onsen afterward. Since it's a special trip, I'd really appreciate recommendations for an onsen ryokan with a focus on the quality of the hot spring water (onsen).

1191-1 Tamatsukuri, Tamayu-cho, Matsue-city

  • It's very tasteful.

  • The entire Tamatsukuri Onsen is located along the river, allowing for a relaxing atmosphere. There's a foot bath, small bronze statues, and small shops, all within walking distance of the inn. The building is old, but it's a prestigious inn. The hospitality shown in the welcome and farewell was palpable. You can also enjoy the hot springs at the neighboring Yamanoi hot springs.

  • A High-Class Ryokan Where Even the Showa Emperor Stayed

  • This is a ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen that maintains a high level of prestige and tradition; even the Showa Emperor once stayed here. It is composed of four distinct wings, each with a different atmosphere, allowing it to meet the various needs of its guests. The baths draw from the water of an onsen said to be Japan's oldest, and the spring water is very popular with female guests because it's famous for its beautifying properties.
