  • Recommended hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) for couples in Tamatsukuri Onsen

I'm going to Izumo Taisha Shrine with my girlfriend for the first visit of the year. We're considering spending the night at Tamatsukuri Onsen, so are there any recommended hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn)? I'd especially like to know about inns that are particular about the quality of their spring water.

Hoseikan Hotel

1191-1 Tamatsukuri, Tamayu-cho, Matsue-city

  • It's very tasteful.

  • The entire Tamazukuri Onsen is along the river, so you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. There is a foot bath, you can see small bronze statues, and you can also walk to small shops. The building is old, but it is a prestigious inn. We felt the hospitality when we were greeted and seen off. You can also take a bath in the hot springs of "Yamanoi" next door.

  • A prestigious Ryokan (Japanese inn) where Emperor Showa also stayed

  • This is a highly prestigious inn in Tamatsukuri Onsen, where even Emperor Showa has stayed. It consists of four buildings with different styles, and can be used to meet the various needs of guests. The baths use water drawn from the source of a hot spring that is said to be the oldest in Japan, and are popular with female guests as they are said to have skin-beautifying effects.
