  • The beautiful autumn leaves of Naruko Gorge

  • In the Tohoku region, Naruko Gorge in Miyagi Prefecture is covered in beautiful autumn leaves and is Breathtaking view. I recommend the nearby Naruko Hotel. It is a long-established hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) that was founded 140 years ago. It is about a 3-minute walk from JR Naruko Onsen Station. It has the largest bathtub in the Naruko Onsen area and also has a variety of open-air baths with different themes. It is interesting to see how the color of the hot spring water changes subtly depending on the outside air and humidity. The food Buffet was very satisfying, with plenty of local dishes such as salt-grilled sweetfish and local sake. There are many tourist spots around the hotel, such as Naruko Onsen Shrine and the dam, so we enjoyed it thoroughly.

  • The autumn leaves of Urabandai are Breathtaking view

  • The autumn foliage of Urabandai in the northern part of Fukushima Prefecture is spectacularly beautiful. We recommend the Urabandai Lake Resort Geihinkan. The crimson mountains reflected on the lake surface are a stunning sight. The hotel is luxuriously decorated and features numerous artworks and works of art. The open-air bath surrounded by the autumn foliage is the best.

1-7 Aza-Aonisawa Takinoue, Oaza Okiura, Kuroishi-shi

  • A remote inn deep in the mountains

  • How about Aoni Onsen in Aomori Prefecture? It is located a short distance from the roadside station "Niji no Lake." It is a independent guest cottages mountain village, with only farms and a few fields within a 2km radius. Various trees around the inn are changing color in autumn. You can see the natural scenery. Although it is a small, rustic inn, there are four baths, so you can Visiting hot springs in every spot.

10-5 Nagakura, Hiraizumi,Hiraizumicho,Nishiiwaigun

  • A relaxing inn nestled in a charming rural setting

  • This is a wonderful inn nestled in a quiet rural landscape surrounded by mountains. The hot spring is 100% natural hot spring, and is popular for its gentle texture and silky feel on the skin after bathing. The inn's proud handmade soba noodles are fragrant and can be enjoyed with local seasonal ingredients. Hiraizumi has a wide variety of sights, starting with Chusonji Temple, and it is difficult to see them all. Therefore, it is recommended to pick out your favorite spots in the tourist brochure in advance to make the most of your time. Enjoy the scenery of Hiraizumi that you can only find here.

  • Sakunami Onsen heals the body and mind

  • How about Sakunami Onsen in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture? Iwamatsu Ryokan (Japanese inn) looks like a fine hotel, but there is also an old staircase leading down to the open-air bath. You can bathe in the open-air bath while looking at the mountain stream. You can enjoy the hot springs in the nature. Depending on the plan, you can have meals in your room. I chose Buffet, but the food was mainly Japanese and there was a corner with local cuisine. If you take the train, there is a round-trip shuttle from Sakunami Station.

  • Feel the Japanese atmosphere at Ginzan Onsen

  • Ginzan Onsen is a place where you can feel the Japanese atmosphere. This place is a little independent guest cottages from the Ginzan Onsen scenery that you often see in photos, but I recommend it from the viewpoint of comfort, such as size and facilities. There are two indoor baths in particular, both of which have a nice old-fashioned atmosphere. You can also use the baths at the sister hotel "Ginzanso" for free. It is within walking distance to the center of the hot spring town.
