This is a private inn with an ocean view from every room, overlooking the Tsugaru Strait. We were able to relax in the Japanese-style room with a wide veranda on the Tsugaru Strait side. We were also able to enjoy the natural hot springs with the Tsugaru Strait right in front of us in the open-air bath and large bath while overlooking the Hokkaido mountains. For dinner, kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）using local seasonal ingredients, including seafood from the Tsugaru Strait. The specially ordered dishes, such as grilled amberjack collar, abalone sashimi, squid sashimi, and scallop sashimi, were especially delicious.

裏磐梯の紅葉が絶景

鳴子峡の紅葉が美しい

東北地方だと宮城県の鳴子峡では美しい紅葉におおわれて絶景です。その近くの「鳴子ホテル」をおすすめします。創業１４０年の老舗温泉旅館です。JR鳴子温泉駅から徒歩で３分くらいにあります。鳴子温泉エリアでは一番大きい湯船があって、色んな趣の異なった露天風呂もあります。温泉は外気や湿度によってお湯の色が微妙に変化するのが面白いです。食事はバイキングで「鮎の塩焼き」などの郷土料理や地酒もいっぱいあって大満足。ホテルの周辺には鳴子温泉神社やダムなど色んな観光スポットがあって充分に楽しめました。

山の奥の奥にある鄙びた宿

青森県の青荷温泉はいかがでしょうか。道の駅「虹の湖」から少し行ったところです。人里離れた山里で、半径２キロ以内には農場と僅かな畑があるだけです。宿の周りは、様々に木々が紅葉しています。自然のままの姿が見られますよ。こじんまりとした鄙びた宿ですが、お風呂は4カ所あって湯めぐりができます。

十和田湖畔に建つリゾートホテル

紅葉のスポットは東北でもいろいろとありますが、十和田湖の紅葉も印象に残ったひとつです。湖と紅葉のコントラストが素晴らしかったです。展望台もいくつかあるので、いろんな景色を見ることも出来ます。ホテルは十和田湖畔に建つリゾートホテルです。周りには建物がほとんどなく、湖畔の一軒宿といった印象でした。夕食は本格フランス料理が楽しめます。

This is a traditional Japanese Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a nice atmosphere in Asamushi Onsen, Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were Japanese-style and spacious, and we had a comfortable stay. The food was delicious, with carefully prepared local dishes and fresh seafood from Mutsu Bay. You can feel the good old Showa era of Japan.
