We recommend Hatcho-no-Yu Ryokan. This is a recommended hotel for those who want to enjoy hiking in nature and experience the four seasons of Japan, with waterfalls and suspension bridges in the surrounding area. The open-air Ryokan (Japanese inn) is of course filled with hot spring water, but you can enjoy the view of the flowing waterfall surrounded by trees. There are three Mixed-Gender Hot Springs baths, and we hope you will enjoy each one, but there are also designated bathing times for women only. The view of the waterfall from the baths built into the cliffs right next to it is spectacular!

You are sure to be able to relax and unwind. You can enjoy the hot springs in a cypress bathtub while looking out at the garden. It feels great. There is a plan available that includes an 8 tatami mat Japanese-style room with toilet and two meals for 15,000 yen per person!
-
At this inn, you can stay overnight and have two meals in a relaxing Japanese-style room. For dinner, you can enjoy lava-grilled Oita Wagyu beef and a kaiseki meal made with local vegetables and seafood from the Bungo Channel. In the morning, you can enjoy a Japanese set meal that includes hot spring rice porridge. The baths at this inn use a hot spring source that is over 90 degrees Celsius, which is mixed with spring water from next to Mt. Yufu, and the hot spring water is drawn into the indoor bath, open-air bath, and private bath. The indoor bath is open 24 hours a day.

All rooms are independent guest cottages and come with their own hot spring, so you can relax in your room. You can enjoy the clear, colorless free-flowing hot spring not only in the rooms, but also in the open-air baths where you can look out at the starry sky. In addition, after your bath, a free server and hot spring eggs are provided in the arbor (resting area). As for meals, you can enjoy creative kaiseki meals made with seafood and local vegetables. The specially ordered dishes, Seki horse mackerel sashimi and Bungo fried chicken, are particularly delicious.

hot spring hotel with all-you-can-eat snow crab
-
This hotel offers all-you-can-eat snow crab. It has been recently renovated, so the rooms and baths are new and comfortable. The ocean is right in front of you, and you can hear the sound of the waves from open-air bath and your room, which will help you relax. What's more, you can stay here for a very reasonable price. The tropical botanical garden in front of the hotel has its famous monkeys, which are a lot of fun.

Our inn has a wide variety of baths where you can enjoy bathing that is just as good as soto-yu (public bathhouses)!
-
As symbolized by the tatami mats used throughout the entire building, this is a warm inn that is considerate of everyone from small children to the elderly. There is also a wide variety of baths, with large public baths separated by gender, each with an indoor bath, a jacuzzi bath, an open-air bath, a sauna, and a cold bath, which are enough for a relaxing soto-yu (public bathhouses) are also nearby, so it would be nice to go for a walk there in a colorful yukata. After the bath, cold water, coffee, etc. are provided, and there is also a foot massage machine. For meals, you will be greeted with traditional artisan-crafted kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ).

The atmosphere of the open-air bath is really great, so I recommend it!
-
It is a 3-minute walk from the nearest station, Kinugawa Koen Station, so it is recommended as it can be reached even without a car. There are various types of rooms, including rooms with a panoramic view of the Kinugawa River and rooms with open-air baths. You can fully enjoy the Japanese atmosphere. There are three types of hot springs: a large bath, an open-air bath, and a private family bath. The large bath has a large window from which you can soak in the water while looking out at the nature of the Kinugawa River. The open-air bath feels like a hidden hot spring surrounded by nature. Meals are Japanese kaiseki cuisine with local seasonal ingredients. If you contact them in advance, they will take care of allergies as much as possible.

There is an all-you-can-eat crab option, but it depends on the season.
-
You can enjoy the abundant Matsushima Onsen hot springs, which gush out 180 liters per minute. At the dinner Buffet, the food is cooked right in front of you in the kitchen, so you can enjoy piping hot food. There is also a one-drink alcoholic drink service, so why not have one as an aperitif?

A villa-like Ryokan (Japanese inn) that represents Yufuin
-
This is an interesting hot spring inn that features a special interior in a relocated old house. It is also famous as one of the three great Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Yufuin. When you enter the room, you will be greeted by magnificent furnishings. The bath in the room is also spacious and full of atmosphere. However, there is no large communal bath or open-air bath on the premises. To be honest, this is a place I have always longed to stay at. It is Ryokan (Japanese inn) I would like to visit at least once.

We recommend Oedo Oedo Onsen Monogatari in Naruko Onsen, Miyagi Prefecture. This is a wonderful hot spring inn that offers a gorgeous Buffet with all-you-can-eat crab, as well as raw tuna and scallops, all served in a live kitchen. While the food tends to grab your attention, this is also a recommended hot spring inn with a large public bath and open-air bath where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Naruko Onsenkyo and the wide sky.

-
Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel is a hot spring inn in Shiretoko Utoro where you can enjoy Hokkaido's great outdoors to your heart's content. This hotel offers a plan with a Buffet style dinner that includes an all-you-can-eat crab meal. You can also stay for less than 25,000 yen with dinner and breakfast included. As the hotel is located on high ground, we also recommend the open-air bath with a panoramic view of the Sea of Okhotsk as it shines in the sunset.

A homely inn surrounded by nature
-
This inn has a homey feel, surrounded by nature and with a small number of guest rooms. The bathtub in the large communal bath is not very large, but the natural beauty spreads out before your eyes and you can enjoy the quiet environment. There is also a private open-air bath with a sofa room, so it was the perfect place to relax in private. There is also an affiliated hotel about a minute's walk away, and you can also use the large public bath there, so you can enjoy Visiting hot springs in different baths. By the way, this open-air bath was spacious. The dining area is a semi-private room, and the main course is a kaiseki meal featuring seafood unique to Yugawara. The famous soy milk sleet hotpot was also delicious. It is also in a good location as it is close to tourist attractions.
