You can also take a relaxing dip in moor hot springs from the large cypress bathtub and open-air bath. The starry sky seen from the glass mosaic reclining Lying-down bath gives you a luxurious time to indulge in fantastical thoughts. The food is highly acclaimed for its trinity of ingredients, flavor, and presentation. The elaborate dishes are unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. Known as the Yokozuna of the East, the water gently envelops the skin with its viscous texture. For anniversary plans, we recommend the "Hot Spring Kaiseki Meal" or "Michinoku Buffet" where you can enjoy the flavors of Michinoku. In the guest rooms with foot baths, you can spend some relaxing time together while gazing at the mountain village atmosphere.

For your special anniversary, it's the perfect place to spend a luxurious time in a guest room with a private, free-flowing hot spring bath. Since the open-air bath is private, you can fully enjoy your time together as a couple. The kaiseki (multi-course) cuisine, featuring seasonal Shimane ingredients, is highly acclaimed, and they offer plans for in-room dining or private dining rooms, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about other guests.

If you're visiting Beppu Onsen, I recommend "Sennari." This is a special Ryokan (Japanese inn) that only accepts 8 groups per day. It's conveniently located near the station. The bath is 100% natural hot spring a small open-air bath, it has a great atmosphere. There are plans for meals such as Seki horse mackerel and Bungo beef, so you can choose whichever you like.

Their guest rooms with an open-air bath are perfect for spending special, private time as a couple. From your room, you can enjoy the tranquil and atmospheric view of the Japanese garden while soaking in Tamatsukuri's water, which is famous for its skin-beautifying properties. You can also enjoy delicious kaiseki (multi-course) cuisine featuring the area's fresh, seasonal ingredients.

The inn is old, but the prices are reasonable. You can use the private baths, known as "Bijin-no-yu (a hot spring of beauty)," but there is also a public bath called Takegawara Onsen, which is one of the most famous in Beppu, nearby, so we recommend you stop by there as well.

married couple and I went there to celebrate a retirement. There are about 10 Japanese-style and Western-style inns on the vast grounds, and the exterior and interior of the buildings have a historic feel. There are modern facilities so you don't feel inconvenienced, but it feels like you're in a deep forest. There are open-air baths in each room, and there is also a small, separate one outside. The food is fresh and delicious, mainly made from vegetables grown on the inn's grounds. You can experience a calm and different world that is different from your usual life in the city. The futon made me feel like I was on a cloud.

The guest rooms in the new building, which overlook the hot spring town of Tamatsukuri, are nice, but we recommend staying in a traditional Japanese-style room built with wood, where you can fully appreciate the beauty of a Japanese house that echoes the garden outside. It's nice to soak in the open-air bath that blends in with nature from your relaxing room, or to soak in the large bath surrounded by boulders.

 I think a smaller, more intimate ryokan with a sincere spirit of hospitality would be great for a relaxing stay. I recommend this inn! They offer in-room dining for dinner (may vary by season), and the food, including crab, was plentiful and delicious. The bathhouse is spacious, and the open-air bath overlooking a bamboo grove was incredibly comfortable. The location is also great; it's close to the Tamatsukuri-yu Shrine, so you can easily walk around and sightsee.

When you get off at Hakone-Yumoto Station, walk along the souvenir street eating a soft serve coffee and turn to the side and you will see Tenseien. The souvenir street is what makes you feel like you're in Hakone. There are about three types of rooms with open-air bath, and when I stayed there, I had a Japanese-style room. It was very clean and relaxing. The food buffet has a good balance of Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, so even if you have food preferences, it's fine. I think it's the best place to celebrate an anniversary.
