It was the ultimate Japanese retreat—perfect for couples seeking privacy, great food, and a relaxing soak.

All rooms have an open-air bath, which is designed so that you can bathe while looking at the Japanese garden. There is a large hot spring bath and an open-air bath, and you can bathe while drinking Japanese sake. Dinner is creative Japanese cuisine in a semi-private dining room. The main dish is Chichibu mushroom and herb Sangen pork Shabu Shabu（Japanese hotpot）. For dessert, a handmade pudding made with Chichibu soba tea and many other local ingredients are used. After dinner, there is a night view tour to Chichibu's sacred places, "Tabidachi no Oka."

Then, there’s the bathing area—which is just as overwhelming in its size and the number of baths available. They offer several different water temperatures, so you can choose whatever suits you best. It's like a "buffet of baths," too. On top of all that, the staff are clearly well-trained and very pleasant.

A free shuttle bus runs from JR Kyoto Station, making this hotel easy to access. You can relax in the luxurious rooms. There are beauty salons and massage rooms, so it is recommended for female travelers.

We recommend this place where you can stay in a ger, a mobile home of Mongolian nomads! Everyone has seen it on TV, but there are few opportunities to see it in real life. You can also try on the national costumes, so you can have a very realistic Mongolian experience! They serve Mongolian food, and the hotpot that Genghis Khan ate was especially delicious on a cold night. As they are nomads, they move around every day and change their base of operations, and when they move, they apparently tie their children up and tie them to a horse. The tied-up child moves around a lot to free his body, and I was told that this is why Mongolians are so strong. Please consider this place, where you can experience things about Mongolia that you may not know much about, even though it is close by.

Ryokan (Japanese inn) is easily accessible from the Kumano Kodo trail, a registered World Heritage Site, and has a recommended hot spring. We were able to relax in the hotel and rooms, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and abundant nature. The open-air bath by the riverbank, with its open feel, will help you refresh after your travels.

This hotel is next to a ski resort. In other seasons, there are plenty of activities such as rafting, and you can stay at a reasonable price. There is a large natural hot spring bath and an open-air bath. Both meals were Buffet. The toilets and other facilities in the rooms are old, but the service is good, the food is plentiful and very delicious.

The inn has a calm and elegant atmosphere. The room with the open-air bath faces the garden and has a high-quality alcove. I was able to spend my time relaxing and enjoying the private hot springs many times while looking out at the garden. The meal was a kaiseki meal made with local ingredients, which I enjoyed with the local sake recommended by the innkeeper. You can go down to the Kinugawa River from the courtyard and take a leisurely stroll.

 If you're looking for a hotel with a buffet in Kusatsu Onsen, I recommend "Hotel Ichii." It's in a prime location, standing right in front of the "Yubatake," Kusatsu Onsen's famous symbol. It was super easy to just step out for a quick walk at night to see the Yubatake all lit up. The buffet hall just had its grand opening in 2024, so it's very clean. And, of course, the food was delicious with plenty of variety. If your main priority is strolling around the onsen town, I highly recommend it.

Located in the center of Yuzawa Onsen town, it is highly recommended for its location, which makes it easy to visit the hot springs and eat your way around! It is also a 2-minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa Station, making it easily accessible. We enjoyed visiting the hot springs in independent guest cottages building, which is filled with garden atmosphere. There is also an open-air bath. For meals, we had a delicious Buffet made with carefully selected ingredients in the restaurant, which also has a live kitchen.

I recommend "Grand Park Otaru". It's romantic, with an ocean view along the canal. It's a perfect hotel for couples. It's also close to commercial facilities, so you can enjoy shopping. The atmosphere and location are great.

I went to Sun Valley Hotel as a child and had a lot of fun, but I think adults can enjoy it too. If you are coming from abroad, the experience of riding the Shinkansen will be a delight, and there is an amusement park (Nasu Highland Park) and a zoo (Nasu Animal Kingdom) near the hotel, so you can enjoy sightseeing there too!

This is a stylish hotel in Ibusuki Onsen. It faces the coast and the view is simply amazing. If you stay in an ocean view room, you can see the ocean from your room. If you go to the coast, you can take great photos on the beautiful sand.

If you're visiting Beppu Onsen, I recommend "Sennari." This is a special Ryokan (Japanese inn) that only accepts 8 groups per day. It's conveniently located near the station. The bath is 100% natural hot spring a small open-air bath, it has a great atmosphere. There are plans for meals such as Seki horse mackerel and Bungo beef, so you can choose whichever you like.
