  • A budget accommodation with simple facilities and services.

  • If you want to stay elegantly in Kinosaki Onsen town, we recommend "Shogetsutei", and if you want to stay light and alone, we recommend this Ryokan (Japanese inn) "Suigo". It is an easy-to-use inn that specializes in accommodation only, so it is the best inn to use for a casual solo trip. It is within walking distance from the station, but they will also provide a shuttle if you contact them. Using this inn as a base for Visiting hot springs is very comfortable. It is also very cost-effective, so it is recommended for solo travelers.

7923-3 Toyosato, Nozawa Onsen-mura, Shimotakai-gun

  • It's very affordable even with one night stay and two meals included!

  • There are three open-air baths in the large communal bath with a reclining Lying-down bath. Since they have their own hot spring source, you can use the free-flowing water 24 hours a day, except for cleaning from 10:00 to 14:00 and when the men's and women's baths are switched. There seem to be more families and men's guests than women. Dinner is a Japanese meal that seems to be an arrangement of local cuisine, and breakfast is also mainly Japanese, with delicious local Koshihikari rice.

  • A Super Convenient and Clean Hotel Connected to the Station

  • You'll feel at ease knowing the hotel is just a 30-second walk from Izumoshi Station, so there's no chance of getting lost, even on a first-time solo trip. The bus stop for Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine is right in front, making it the perfect base for sightseeing. The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. I especially loved the spacious and spotless bathroom; it was so relaxing. Another huge plus for female travelers is the amenity bar in the lobby, stocked with things like makeup remover and skin toner. It's a really nice touch!

  • You can enjoy hot springs and cuisine for around 10,000 yen

  • The water flows directly from the Bandaiko hot spring. Breakfast and dinner are served as Buffet, with all-you-can-drink options. There is a large public bath and an open-air bath, and you can use the indoor and outdoor baths for free in the private baths. There are Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, and guests can stay alone. For entertainment, there is a small games corner, free table tennis, and one hour of free karaoke. All of this means you can stay for around 10,000 yen per person, making it quite reasonable.

  • Packed with Great Services for Women

  • I highly recommend the Super Hotel, especially for solo female travelers. Upon check-in, you get to choose five complimentary amenities, including skincare items, and you can even pick a pillow that's just right for you. Another fantastic perk is the free breakfast buffet, where you can enjoy an organic salad bar and shijimi-jiru (miso soup with local shijimi clams), a Shimane specialty. They also provide a discount voucher for "Lamp no Yu," a nearby day-trip onsen (hot spring), so you can soak in a spacious bath and relieve your travel fatigue.

933 Zao Onsen

  • There are three different types of private baths

  • It is located right next to Yokokura slope. It is a wonderful Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a classical and calm atmosphere, recommended for solo travelers. The hot spring has a large scale and a sense of openness that makes you feel the warmth of wood through the indoor and outdoor baths. There are three types of private baths. There is a granite type, a cypress type, and a barrier-free type, and it is especially comfortable to bathe while looking at the mountain and river scenery. The local Yamagata beef dishes are also delicious, and I was able to fully enjoy the goodness of Zao Onsen.

  • Recommended accommodations on the Shimanto River in Kochi Prefecture

  • This is a hidden hot spring inn located upstream of the pure Shimanto River. It is convenient for sightseeing in the area, such as fishing for sweetfish in the Shimanto River and firefly hunting. You can also enjoy the hot spring in the open-air bath and large bath, where you can enjoy the fresh greenery in spring and bath to view the snow in winter. As for meals, you can eat kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with local ingredients such as Shimanto eel, Shimanto Japanese black beef, and Shimanto pork.

1-10-3 Oshiage, Sumida-ku

  • Right in front of the Skytree

  • If you are in the Skytree area, I recommend Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Oshiage. It is located right in front of the Skytree. The nearest station is a 1-minute walk from Oshiage Station on the subway, and a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Line. I stayed here the day before climbing the Skytree, and I was in a good mood because I could see about the lower half of the Skytree from my room. The bathroom was spacious, which is unimaginable for a business hotel, and I felt that it was a premier hotel.

  • Breakfast included, available for one person

  • This hotel offers a plan for single occupancy with breakfast included, so it should suit your needs. The price is also within your budget, so I recommend it. After enjoying soto-yu (public bathhouses), relax in the indoor bath. The open-air rock bath is a real treat.

15-8 Kusatsu-cho Agatsumagun

  • It's a little old, but it's a nice place to stay.

  • All the 100% natural hot spring are directly sourced, and the quality of the springs at this hotel was excellent. The building is a little old, but I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind the age of the building and wants a cheap place to stay. When I stayed there, dinner kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ), and breakfast was Buffet. The breakfast included yogurt from areas close to Kusatsu.

  • Reliably Clean and Great Value for Your Money

  • This hotel's location is unbeatable—it's right in front of you as you step out of the North Exit of JR Izumoshi Station. The rates are very reasonable, making it a perfect choice for travelers looking to save on accommodation costs. And even though it's affordable, it's part of a famous national hotel chain, so you can count on it being spotlessly clean. It’s also a lovely touch that the front desk gives female guests a complimentary skincare set with items like toner and makeup remover.

  • A Riverside Onsen in a Secluded Mountain Hideaway

  • If you prefer intimate and cozy inns, why not consider "Honke Bankyu" in Yunishigawa Onsen? This inn is tucked away deep in the mountains in a place known as the "Hidden Village of the Heike Clan," offering a truly quiet and tranquil atmosphere. The onsen baths are located right alongside a mountain stream, allowing you to soak leisurely to the sound of the babbling water.
