  • A Japanese-style Ryokan (Japanese inn) with plenty of sacred places and satisfying local cuisine

  • The guest rooms are calming Japanese-style rooms, and the open-air bath allows you to bathe in Tamatsukuri Onsen while looking at the bamboo forest, making this a popular inn for girls' trips. There are many sacred places that women are likely to like near the inn, making it a great date spot. In particular, you can take home the "Wish Stone," a talisman made by striking the sacred tree at Tamatsukuriyu Shrine with a wish stone, making it a great memory for couples' trips. For dinner, you can enjoy kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )that allows you to enjoy local gourmet food such as clams from Lake Shinji and Shimane wagyu beef, and at around 20,000 yen, I think it's reasonably priced.

  • Might I suggest Kasui-en Minami? Here you can experience the legendary "Kami no Yu" (Bath of the Gods), one of the most celebrated hot springs in the San'in region. Its hypotonic, weakly alkaline water is renowned for its ability to relieve fatigue and beautify the skin. You can enjoy this famous water in a serene indoor bath that looks out onto a magnificent garden. The dining is equally impressive, allowing you to savor local San'in ingredients and the bounty of the Sea of Japan. It is conveniently located about a 5-minute drive from Tamatsukuri Onsen Station.

  • You'll be absolutely charmed by the breathtaking views of Lake Shinji from the guest room windows, the spacious public bath, and even the sauna here! It's incredibly relaxing. For dinner, I highly recommend the Peking duck and Shimane beef steak – both were absolutely delicious! And the breakfast spread? Simply fantastic! The location is super convenient too. It's just a 10-minute drive from Matsue Station, or an 18-minute bus ride. Even better, it's a mere 1-minute walk from Matsue Shinji-ko Onsen Station!

  • Unbeatable Views from Your Room!

  • The views of Lake Shinji from the hotel room windows here are absolutely unbeatable – truly magnificent! I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with an open-air bath, and the view from the tub was equally stunning. The room itself was immaculate and incredibly comfortable. The food was also delicious; not only was dinner outstanding, but the breakfast offered a fantastic variety of dishes, leaving me completely satisfied. While the sunset isn't directly visible from the hotel (it's on the opposite side of the lake), it's only about a 10-minute drive away, and there seem to be buses available. The next day, I took a Lake Shinji cruise, and gliding across the lake with the wind in my hair was an incredibly refreshing experience!

  • Located on the shores of Lake Shinji, transportation is convenient and affordable.

  • I stayed here when I went on a trip to Izumo Taisha Shrine and Matsue. It is very convenient for day trips to Izumo Taisha Shrine and for touring the tourist attractions in Matsue City on foot or by bus. The price is also reasonable, and I recommend skipping the meal and enjoying the taste of the famous restaurants in Matsue City. The sunset over Lake Shinji from the large public bath on the upper floor was beautiful.
