My stay at Itoen Hotel Kusatsu was more comfortable than I expected. The inn is located in a quiet area a little independent guest cottages from the Yubatake hot springs, and a free shuttle bus makes it easy to get around. What impressed me most was the high quality of the dinner buffet. There was a very wide variety of dishes, and we could enjoy a variety of cuisines, including Japanese, Western, and Chinese. The hot dishes were constantly replenished, and all of them were delicious. The large, open-air bath where you can enjoy Kusatsu's famous hot springs was wonderful, and the open-air bath had an open atmosphere that made you feel like you were in the middle of a forest. The hotel is well-equipped with a table tennis room, games corner, and a shop. It was good value for money, and I had a fulfilling stay that was lively yet relaxing.

When it comes to long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Dogo onsen(hot spring), there's Funaya, which was founded 390 years ago and is a Ryokan (Japanese inn) that even Japanese people dream of staying at at least once. Funaya was founded during the Edo period, even before the main building of Dogo onsen(hot spring), and has hosted many famous Japanese guests, including Emperor Showa. If you're coming all the way to Japan to stay overnight, we recommend a Japanese-style room. If you stay on the Club Floor (special rooms) on the 7th and 8th floors, the bath in your room will be made of cypress and will be filled with hot water from Dogo onsen(hot spring). Of course, there is a large public bath, but if you don't like being naked in public, there is also a foot bath in the garden. Dogo onsen(hot spring) has many dining options, but dinner at Funaya is prepared by top-class chefs, offering both Japanese and Western cuisine, so be sure to book a stay with meals included!

 I have never seen a hotel buffet with this much variety. And what's more, it's all delicious. The second you walk into the dining hall, the sheer selection is almost dizzying. Then, there’s the bathing area—which is just as overwhelming in its size and the number of baths available. They offer several different water temperatures, so you can choose whatever suits you best. It's like a "buffet of baths," too. On top of all that, the staff are clearly well-trained and very pleasant.

If you're going with your friend's family, I really recommend "Hotel Village"! The dinner buffet has an incredible variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese food—it's so much fun just deciding what to get. You can also get freshly prepared steak and sushi from the live kitchen. They also have plenty of kid-friendly favorites like french fries, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), and desserts, so it's a huge relief even if you have picky eaters. I think it's the kind of buffet where everyone, both adults and kids, can truly eat their fill of all their favorite things.

This resort hotel is popular for its free-flowing open-air baths and Shinshu local cuisine in Nozawa Onsen. You can also enjoy the hot springs from the open-air observation baths overlooking the hot spring town of Nozawa and the beautiful starry sky, the tatami baths (large observation baths) that are rare in the prefecture and have a spectacular Breathtaking view of the hot spring town and mountains, and the private open-air baths (Hyakuban Kannon married couple Baths) surrounded by greenery. As for meals, you can eat kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）using Shinshu premium beef and Shinshu salmon. The specially ordered dishes such as trout and seasonal vegetable tempura, horse sashimi, and Shinshu premium beef stone-grilled are particularly delicious.

 If you're looking for a hotel with a buffet in Kusatsu Onsen, I recommend "Hotel Ichii." It's in a prime location, standing right in front of the "Yubatake," Kusatsu Onsen's famous symbol. It was super easy to just step out for a quick walk at night to see the Yubatake all lit up. The buffet hall just had its grand opening in 2024, so it's very clean. And, of course, the food was delicious with plenty of variety. If your main priority is strolling around the onsen town, I highly recommend it.

This is a European-style resort hotel located at an altitude of 1,200 meters. Surrounded by the "Baelz Forest," it’s a place where you can spend a truly healing time immersed in nature. They offer an attractive Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet, featuring menus centered around local Gunma ingredients. They hold seasonal fairs with different themes, so you'll never get bored no matter how many times you visit. The buffet isn't just for dinner; they offer it for breakfast as well. The fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth omelets, cooked one by one right in front of you, are very popular. The onsen includes indoor baths and open-air baths with free-flowing spring water (gensen kakenagashi), and there is also a sauna. Furthermore, there are five different types of private, reservable open-air baths. A free shuttle bus is available to get to the "Yubatake" (Kusatsu's symbol) and the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal.

The hotel is conveniently located just 30 seconds walk from Yokote Station. There are five places to eat dinner, including a Japanese restaurant with a Kiritanpo hotpot set meal. Breakfast is a Japanese set meal made with local Akita ingredients. The room was spacious and comfortable.

If you are looking for a Japanese-style hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Dogo Onsen that will please your foreign friends, how about this inn? Dinner here is a Japanese kaiseki meal centered on seafood and vegetables from the Seto Inland Sea. The hot spring is a hypotonic, weakly alkaline spring, which is said to be effective for joint pain and neuralgia. Highly recommended.

I stayed at this ryokan with my a foreign friend. This ryokan values the Japanese spirit of harmony above all else, so from the lovely Japanese-style rooms to the delicious Japanese food, not only the Japanese guests but also my foreign friend very happy.

Wado Onsen, which has a long history and was discovered during the time of Takeda Shingen, is known as Yakushi no Yu for its high healing powers. You can enjoy this hot spring 24 hours a day (excluding cleaning time of about an hour). There is an indoor rock bath and an open-air bath full of greenery behind it, and in the autumn when the leaves change color, a sea of orange spreads out before your eyes. There is also an indoor cypress bath and a large open-air bath next to it, and on clear nights you can gaze at the stars. This is an inn in Zao where you can enjoy 100% natural hot springs that are rich in sulfur. There is also an open-air bath, so you can enjoy a bath while watching the seasonal nature of Zao. For meals, we recommend enjoying a kaiseki course or a Buffet that uses plenty of Yamagata flavors, such as Yamagata beef Shabu Shabu（Japanese hotpot）-shabu, sukiyaki, and steak.
